My name is Michele Miller Nelson.
I grew up in the rural farm country of Michigan. I’m not ancient, but I did attend a one-room school for two years (do one-room schools still exist?).
I’ve lived on the rocky coast of New England, worked in the heart of Manhattan, and now reside in the desert foothills of Scottsdale, Arizona with my husband, composer Ron Nelson.
I studied classical music and have degrees in music education and arts administration from respectable, but not Ivy League, universities. I’ve worked for some of the world’s largest arts institutions, spent a few years in broadcasting, and owned my own public relations business for seven years.
Marketing and advertising have been my bailiwick for a few years, where I’ve written a couple of books (which you can find here and here), blogged extensively on the female consumer (here), and traveled around the world giving presentations.
Free the Weeble is a personal space to document my sabbatical from marketing work to explore the craft of fiction writing. I’m not sure where this ride is going to take me but if it’s like the rest of my life story up to this point, you might want to buckle your seatbelt.
